About River Dane Holiday Park, Congleton

Based in the heart of Cheshire, River Dane Holiday Park is open all year round offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This holiday park is ideal for nature lovers and has been designated as a site of special scientific interest with a wide array of wildflowers and rare wildlife to see. For three years running, we have received a David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award as we actively continue to grow hedgerows and plants to attract more wildlife into the park. You can also enjoy free private fishing on our magnificent lake where you’ll find a wide variety of freshwater fish including carp, perch, roach, chub, grayling, gudgeon and bream.

Nearby, there’s an abundance of things to see and do including horse riding, shopping, nature trails as well as some fantastic bars and restaurants in the neighbouring towns of Congleton, Alderley Edge, Knutsford and Stoke-on-Trent. Other highlights include the Jodrell Bank Observatory where you can see the world’s largest movable telescope as well as Little Moreton Hall, the most outstanding timber framed house in Britain. There’s also plenty of golf courses nearby and the world-renowned theme park Alton Towers is only a short drive away.

With so much to see and do it’s no wonder River Dane has become one of the most popular and sought after static caravan parks in Cheshire so be sure to check out the latest holiday homes for sale here. Owning your own holiday home gives you the chance to get away whenever you like without the need to plan ahead, book or pay extortionate prices during the school holidays. Things to do in Cheshire

Little Moreton Hall - Based just outside of Congleton, this iconic Tudor manor house is a stunning example of the architecture at the time. The timber framed building defies logic and has now stood for over 500 years giving a real glimpse into the lifestyle of the 1600s. Nestled at the back you’ll find an authentic Tudor knot garden and you can sample this authentic produce in Mrs Dale’s Pantry.

Alton Towers - Just over half an hour away from River Dane Holiday Park you’ll find the UK's premier theme park providing thrills for the whole family. With massive roller coasters, an on-site water park, CBeebies Land for younger kids and various special events throughout the year there’s never a shortage of things to do at Alton Towers.

Chester Zoo - With over 15,000 animals spread over 125 acres of zoological gardens, Chester Zoo is one of the most visited attractions in Cheshire. You can see some of the world’s most exotic animals with exhibits such as Elephants of the Asian Forest, Realm of the Red Apes and the Tsavo Black Rhino Experience.

Victoria Mill Antiques & Collectors Centre - Housed in one of Congleton’s historical buildings, Victoria Mill is an antique collectors dream with over 45 dealers spread over four floors. You can enjoy a stroll through the wildflower meadows, take part in the various activities on offer or simply enjoy the views across the beautiful Mere.

Golf - We are lucky enough to be close by to three excellent golf courses with each one offering a different challenge. Marton Meadows, built to strict USGA specification, is playable all year round thanks to highly advanced computerised irrigation system. Congleton Golf Club is one of the most picturesque courses in Cheshire while Astbury Golf Club provides a challenge for keen amateurs and seasoned pros alike.

Gauntlet Birds of Prey - Just 20 minutes away in Knutsford is the fantastic Gauntlet Bird of Prey Centre which has over 120 birds from 46 species.
